A BSF jawan has been arrested on charge of raping a 12-year-old tribal girl at Baishnavpur, on the border, in south Tripura. A magistrate court in Sabroom on Sunday remanded the accused in jail custody till December 21 after recording the victim’s statement. The arrest was based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s father at the Sabroom police station. He alleged the BSF jawan dragged his daughter on the other side of the fence and raped her.
